When spring comes

golden willows fade to apple green
corn stubble fields shave  – display riches in the earth
low gray clouds whisper rain and
spring comes gently on a southern breeze

witch hazel blooms left a while ago
sunshine covered forsythia stand guard over newly awakened yards
cherry blossoms hint at delights to come
peaches and apricots follow behind
when spring comes
