Winter Journey

A year ago, we made our plans and said our good byes.
The snow lay deep and cold as we packed.
We began a journey in the snow,
leaving friends behind, but all ways in our heart.

Journeys move from one place to another;
From a home to a home, from a state of mind to another.
We take with us our potential, we leave behind nothing.
The places of our heart go with us and our memories and the love we cherish.

Now we  are home, safe and warm.
Traveling new streets, new paths.
We journey onward – travel through life.
Making friends, finding family warmth.
And Never forgetting those of our heart that we left behind.

  1. Amazing piece. I love the line: “We take with us our potential…” Simple and beautiful.
