Winter in Wisconsin

Yesterday was a tease – cajoling us out of doors
A great day for snow forts and sledding

Dogs romp in the belly deep snow
Chasing rabbits and shadows
Rosy checks, red noses,
children hollering,
The sun beats down with a lost summer’s glow.

Today was reality, frozen toes and frosted breath,
short jaunts out for our necessary chores
The fire’s warmth  welcomes all,
A great day for scrabble!
